Watson Fothergill

Watson Fothergill was an architect who worked in Nottingham at the end of the 19th century/ Beginning of the 20th century. His influences seem to have been gothic churches and Black Forest chateaux. There are many of his distinctive buildings around Nottingham.http://www.watsonfothergill.co.uk/

The Cormerant Fishers
In China they fish by using Cormerants that have their throats restricted so they can't swallow (I think) and they have to drop the fish into baskets. When they've done a good nights fishing the fishermen let them have one for wages. We're a hard species....

Delphi, a magical place.....

Callanish stones

Not as well known as Stonehenge but nearly as impressive and I think cover a wider area, these megaliths are impressive because they are so remote.(OK I know that the people of Lewis don't find them remote but the rest of us do) Who can afford the ferry price from Uig to Lewis?
